On Friday 20th April, Year 3 and 4 went on a fantastic trip to Roche Court the New Art Centre in Winterslow.
This trip gave the children an opportunity to explore, learn and create with hands on experience into the incredible world of modern art and sculpture.
The children found a golden brass cello made of bees, a 30ft dancing couple of hares, a UFO landing on the Salisbury grass. As they stepped through the silver key hole they were whisked away into a land where gorillas marvel at their reflection and foxes stand amused by their own work. A graceful ballerina spinning in a tree, and a wooden amp theatre for our actors to take to the stage.
Our children were active in discussion and helped move their understanding about what sculpture is and how it connects to them personally and the world around us.
The staff helped nurture the children’s imagination and provided them with a brilliant learning opportunity.
